Keyword rich domain for SEO - don't want to screw up!

Hi,
I read recently that a domain that perfectly matches the k/w you're optimizing for, combined with relevant content is a quick way to high rankings - no problem.

My question is though: I have an existing site and domain that gets reasonable traffic. Should I register other k/w rich domains and re-direct them to my site (to a page with relevant content).

...or should I make separate sites for them, add content and a link on each to my main site that I'm trying to increase traffic to?

don't want to screw up my existing good Google rank (took too long to get it).

    The domain does not matter a bit.
    Keywords or no keywords.

    A keyword rich domain with content would lose out to
    a real SEO'd website for the same keywords.

    Thinking that all you need is a keyword rich domain and content
    is a myth. There is sooooooooooooooooooooooo much more
    you need to do. Take it from the big sites. They don't care about
    keywords in domains. They find a cool domain and run with it.

    But, that's why there are so many domains for sale. They have a lot
    of buyers because of this myth.

    And how on earth is this going to screw up your existing google rank?
