Hey Warriors,

(My late X-Mas wishes to you all):p

I just heard a news from one of my friend is that, Google is going to implement more major changes on it's algorithms after these holiday seasons. Is there anyone have ideas on what are the things to be changed? Any hints or tips on that :p

However, I heard that, this major change will do lots of changes in current SERP. So, I am sure, webmasters/SEO/link building guys are going to struggle. What do you say? Let's discuss on this.

Thanks,

    Scary....and yet promising too.

I hate the idea of using social sites, like myspace and twitter and facebook and diggs -- I hate those sites with a PASSION. But, I like that Keyword optimization, proper use of tags, and content will be more of an issue. Too many people get high rankings just because they have a website with a zillion links pointing to it, even though the site is utter garbage.

I totally agree with you there. I like the idea that on-page SEO will weigh more.
And like you, I hate the idea of using social sites.

You guys might not know it (?), but google ALWAYS changes their algorhitms..last year was another major change where they introduced whats called "branding". Now they have a far higher priority on established sites and .gov, .edu etc. as compared to, say, a year or two ago.

You can search for "insurance" and you will see what i mean. You will see allstate, geico, statefarm, progressive etc. all the way on top. NOT because they all did great SEO with their sites....but because Google gives such sites preference and weighs them important in regards to the subject. A year ago you COULD have ranked some smaller site with just enough SEO and backlinks.

I've done a bit of experimenting with the data center running the caffeine update. Basically, there seems to be no difference in the SERPs through page 3 for the handfull of keyword I used.

This test was not scientific and it could be that the caffeine data centers are showing current results until the switch.

I would be interested to hear if anyone notices any changes.

All i want from this change is that irrelevant content, keyword stuffer and content scrapper to find out easily to SE. Other than my own profit of SE ranking, i want search results better for google, so in turn it helps all of us. Truth and honest rules.

Google is always tweaking their algo. Caffeine is a major change however. Not sure I agree that "onpage SEO" will count for more, what I mean is that people should not go back to the dark old days of counting keywords and such nonsense.

However, under caffeine, good keyterm selection and well-crafted text with strong related term mentions etc will work well. So keyword/term selection and the ability to create strong on-topic text which references researched variations will be a strong skill to have in 2010.
