Hello guys. I have a question.

I a static HTML website, and my xml sitemap submitted to google webmasters tools and all of that. My question is: If I'm planning to add a wordpress blog in the same domain, and this blog is supposed to generate its own sitemap, what do I do? submit 2 sitemaps to webmasters tools? How is that done?

And how do you add the google analythics script to the blog?

Thanks a lot

why would you have two sites on the same domain? Make a subdomain?

There is no reason for the average person to need a site map.
You only need a site map if you have a page off of your main
domain that is not gotten via link (and that's any round about
link as well) from your main page. If each and every page on your
website can be reached someway by clicking from one page to
the other, you don't need a site map. If you have hidden sites,
and that's kind of crazy when you think about it, then you need
a site map, maybe. Because any SEO worth it's salt will readily
apply to any page on your site. Why would you keep it hidden?
And if you have a link anywhere on the web to this hidden webpage,
bingo, no site map needed, as it's really not hidden is it?

And wordpress most assuredly does not need a site map.

And remember there are different types of sitemaps.

A sitemap never replaces normal webcrawling. They only
"supplement" it, if that's possible. I have never submitted
      nor use a site map.

So you say that I can just put the blog on a subdomain and a link to the blog in the navigation and that is it?

For better result, it is necessary to use a separate sitemap for your wordpress blog. Yes, you can use subdomain for your blog.

This is what I thought and that's why I'm asking. How do you submit another sitemap tho webmasters tools? Or does google treat it like another domain because is a subdomain?

I haven't tried it myself yet but you can try to submit a subdomain.

I've experienced very rapid indexing when I have submitted a error free site map and followed the other webmaster guidelines for the site I created.

When my site is updated, it automatically sends an update to Google with the new sitemap. Yesterday, on my blog after I wrote an article, minutes later I found the article was indexed in google.
