Thoughts On Adwords Ban

Hi Everyone,

Haven't posted anything on here in a long time. Still, I've lurked around and I continue to be impressed by the knowledge that is passed around. Not everything, but most of it is quality tips and information.

I had the unfortunate incident of having my adwords account banned. Why? I have no idea. The only thing they said in their automated emails is "Landing Page and Site Quality issues"

I find this interesting since the keywords and ads I was going to run all had 10/10 quality scores. Also, I ran these keywords earlier in the year as a test and one of them was losing just a little bit of money net profit wise. With some more tweaking and testing I most likely would have had it profitable and then scaled it while I continued to test other keywords. I had to stop testing due to other circumstances.

I run an e commerce site that sells knives. Now according to their editorial guidelines, the only types of knives that are not allowed to be sold are butterfly knives and automatic opening knives (switchblades). I do not sell either of these knives.

Anyone have the same ban experience? Any thoughts on why this happened to me without explanation?

It's not the end of the world since I didn't have much invested traffic wise in adwords, yet. I make some money but not enough to quit the old day job yet. I'll admit, I haven't been focused enough on this. With so many opportunities around, you tend to jump around hoping to get quick cash. Of course, it doesn't work this way. I truly believe this can become a big money maker with the right focus and applied knowledge.

There are many other traffic sources, including MSN and Yahoo. MSN has my attention due to the fact that it's a search engine geared more towards buyers and not information seekers. Good for e commerce businesses!

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

-Paul
