Using Photo and Videos for Backlinks

HI,

I've noticed that I have started getting a number of my photos, and videos indexed in Google.

When I create galleries in blogs that get brought into google, I can have back links to my sites placed with those photos.

I have many photos that I can post that are related to web sites I am working on.

I have been tagging, and adding descriptive text to the photos. I upload them to picassa, upload to my blogger account, You Tube for videos, and put the videos privately hosted on my own sites and photos on my privately hosted sites.

It seems to be a good way to build a lot legitimate, relevant links back to my sites.

Has anyone else tried a strategy like with with a large amount of photos and videos, taking the time to tag them and add descriptions? With the ultimate goal being to create more back links by putting out all of this new unique content?

Thanks;

    Adding alt text to graphics and photos is an excellent SEO strategy. It is one of the things I will look at first when someone approaches me with keyword optimization questions. I highly suggest this become common practice for anyone not doing so.

      Cool! Thanks for the confirmation that I am on the right track. I have thousands of high quality photos, It sounds like it will be worth it for me to spend a few days naming, tag, adding descriptions and uploading.

      I normally rename the files with a descriptive name, do you think this is a worthwhile strategy also?

      Thanks

      I'm getting my blogs / sites indexed in well under a hour consistently, however google photos seems to take lots longer (often many days). Have you found that is the norm for google to take longer to process photos?
