What method do you now use to check your rankings?

With Google now personalizing search engine results the rankings you see for your keywords may not be the same as what others are seeing. You may be on the first page of Google when checking rankings from your own computer whereas you're actually on page 10.

What software or method are you using to view your real rankings?

I use a third party ap to check my Google ranking. "SEO Ranking" for the IPhone is what I use to check on my rankings. Fast, portable and I hope accurate!

Doesn't personalization require the fact of you being logged into Google?

If not, then how are they going to handle public libraries, schools, office with multiple shifts, or even families with multiple users.

Use a different browser, without logging in and see what results you get.

I wrote a software to check my rankings.

But there are software available to do this, such as Advanced Web Ranking.

That's not an affiliate link, and I've not tried it myself, having my own tool.

I downloaded the rank checker firefox addon which checks Google, Yahoo, Live and allows you to turn off Google's personalized results. I use Web CEO for generating nice looking comprehensive results for SEO clients.

With the latest changes in Google algorithms, it is getting pretty challenging to see where you actually rank. Getting pretty tricky now.

I use this free position checker to check the rankings of my websites. Gives me pretty accurate results.

I still use search. The ranking checkers are always way out.

Best thing to do is make a general search, then head to "web history", then disable customisations based on signed-out search activity.

Then you can check rankings when logged out for real-time positions whenever you please!

I currently make sure that I am logged out of Google and do manual searches. I do however expect that we will eventually need to use some sort of 3rd party site or tools in the future.

Hi vision, I recommend you check out the free SEO4Firefox plug-in. Its far and away the best tool I've found for this purpose. I also use RankChecker by the same folks (seobook.com)

To see your site's listing without personalized results, both these tools have preferences that allow this.

ive been using Market Samurai but since google changed its layout my results have been all over the place.

Im currently wasting a lot more time that i would like to be making progress reports for clients checking rankings manually.

Very frustrating and time consuming but unfortunatly it seems that all 3rd party rank checkers are very inaccurate lately
