I'll get onto it. Sorry, I didn't know. I own the product, I was using it to track where my users came from.

I'll change it in 5mins time. Sorry for the issues.

    seopro91,

You might want to get rid of the affiliate links in your sig. It is against the rules and I would hate to see someone I might be able to learn from get kicked out.

What has been most effective for me is Internet Business Promoter. It hasn't failed me yet in getting sites I am willing to work hard on into the top 5 of Google. It is not cheap, but the best SEO investment I ever made.

One of the most effective techniques is to use keywords in the title tag. Seems simple, but so many sites don't do it.

seo loves blog and blog loves seo.

for me,if we wan to make
money online use our own page,
    blog is the best choice.

when we use a blog for example (wordpress),
we can use SEO all in one plug in
that can help our blog list at
    search engine faster.

and then of course we have to make
up a lot of backlinks but make sure
the backlinks that we have is link to blog
that has a good and high PR.

The best technique is research. Research your keywords, research your niches, research how to get better backlinks, research how to do your on-site SEO, research what other people are doing, etc, etc... If you have a good set of basic skills you will go from there, but it takes knowing and doing a little bit of everything in the right way. There's not really one thing that stands out, because if you're doing everything else wrong you still won't get anywhere.

I don't know of the MOST effective, I have seen a few, tried a couple, both are working. I know it is not keyword density or any of the technical stuff. I am following a system, I know people who outsourced to a system, and that worked and put a site at #1. My advice, take advice from those with a track record, might depend on your niche. Less competitive stuff may have one method work, highly compatitive terms may require a few methods...

There's no such thing as "The Most Effective SEO
    Technique".

There is no hidden secret that if you apply correctly
it will shortcut your way to success to as little as 24
    hours.

No, I am kidding .. of course there are secrets

    SECRET #1
    -----------
Write(outsource) quality content that will match
and be a complete answer to the queries (you want
    to rank for) people make.

After you have the content written, answer these:
    i) Will the searcher need more information and go
    to other sites?
ii) Is the text easy to read?
iii) Will the searcher figure out by a fast look over
your content that this was what he/she was looking for?

    SECRET #2
    -----------
    Navigability.
    i) Is your website easy to use?
ii) Is your HTML code easy to read for the bots (in other words
    - does the googlebot have to go through a lot of BS HTML code
    to get to the content)
iii) Do you have lots of possible interactions for the user? simple search,
    blog, forum, etc?

Secret #1 and Secret #2 are easy measurable by your site's bounce rate
and direct traffic (people who already visited your website and come back
    for more)

    Secret #3
    ----------
    Backlinks
    i) Do you spam out hundreds and thousands of links in the hope Google will
like you more? - that will not work -
ii) Do you have quality links pointing back to you? - building content and
connections not for the sake of backlinks but offering real value to the
internet community your site is trying to fit in?
iii) Are you a social guy ? - is your website present and talked about in the
important social networks? Is it a lot of buzz in the social networks related
    to your website

    Secret #4
    ----------
    Are you a quitter?
    i) It takes time to get a website to an authority position (-where you will
    make the most money)
ii) Age of the site and backlinks matter
iii) It takes time and hard work.
iv) It takes time and hard work.
    v) It takes time and hard work.

    --------------------------------------------------
Please do not share these secrets with anyone else. It will ruin my
business and I don't want anyone else in the top 3 of google for
competitive keywords that bring a lot of traffic.

    consistency.

Not forgetting sites and let them "rot". This means:

    * Constant active maintenance. Eg. changing old static sites to a new platform like wordpress. (Did this and immediately got a nice boost by replacing some pathetic sites with wordpress sites )

    * Content doesn't need to be fed CONSTANTLY, but you simply shouldn't forget sites. At least add content occasionally even if the site is years old.

    * Backlinks. This goes for months, years. It actually never stops.

Each site needs work and maintenance, and i think key to success is consistency.

      Not really.

Take a look at this site: UFO Series Home Page

(I got the series on DVD for Christmas )

It hasn't had a significant update in years but is an authority site on this TV series. You'll find this kind of plain old HTML site all over the place, built by fans of defunct TV shows, dedicated hobbyists and such. In many cases, they've said all there is to be said up front and all that's left is posting the occasional event or project photo.

People really make it to hard sometimes. There's no need to run yourself ragged trying to update sites. Unless you're going for an extra tough niche like weight loss or credit cards, just put up decent content and promote it well (aka get mo' better links) and you'll get there sooner or later.

If you're going for one of those tough niches, get 10M in venture capital money and buy your way there.

But what techniques do you think?
Well, you are referring to "on-page SEO", which I think is NECESSARY. You can't go without getting urls and tags correctly. If you forget these elements, Google won't know what your site is about.

But if you want big results, you need to do aggressive "off-page SEO" otherwise known as "backlinking." You need to show Google that you have "authority." This is the only method that produces consistent results.

There are many ways to get backlinks and there's a lot of controversy around the area. I just wrote a book where I give my opinions on this, you can check out the WSO in my signature. Hope this helps.

Please feel free to PM me with any specific questions.

Not an easy "how to". It's baffling what works and what doesn't...trial and error is probably also helpful. Case in point. I have a one page site that is ranked #5 for a high search keyword with tons of competition. Did nothing phenomenal to get that placing. Have a 12 page site with high search keyword, almost no competition and is maxed with SEO and backlinks...can't get into the first 5 pages! So sometimes it seems less is more...

I have some pages that dominate 'The Big G' for in-demand keywords not used in the url or the <title>.
They also have NO backlinks - at least none that I have built.
That surely leaves only onpage content.
I'm not saying that offpage strategies don't help, but...

P.S. I also have pages where all possible onpage criteria are met that don't do poop! :-(

I've come to the conclusion that the greatest SEO technique is not to focus on one technique but to put them all together into an integrated approach. If you think about it when the search bot comes to your site it isn't looking and seeing just one thing. Its seeing several things.

From what we can tell Search engine algorithms are no longer a simple one two issue. The engines are looking for the combination of certain factors together. Homing in one thing without the others is a waste of time
