Structure for micro niche adsense website

Hi,

I'm thinking about creating some sites for some micro niches.

Of course I would like to create one, do some SEO and move on to the next.

What is the best website structure to use? Will a single page site be ok with google, both regarding ranking and AdSense, or do I need more pages?
What do you have success with?

Thanks.

Best regards,
Thomas

  • Lots of people will disagree, but I don´t think micro sites are a good idea for Adsense. First you need lots of them. You have to buy a lot of domains and get them indexed. If you only have 1 page, sometimes you will not receive even 1 visitor a day or have a single click for a couple of days. Of course some days will also be better than average.

With more pages you get more page impressions and more clicks from the same amount of visitors. All the links you make will only go to 1 domain. The domain gets stronger and new pages will rank easier. A stronger domain opens new possibilities. For example, it´s easier to exchange links with someone if you have a high PR 3 Site than with a lot of sites that are in fact worth nothing. And there are more advantages, like the site will increase in value and may be worth several thousand dollars some day, while the micro sites will cost you a lot in renewing the domains every year.

    Thanks for your input.

But would google dislike it in any way, both regarding ranking and AdSense?

what i observed from my own experience from building xfactor mini sites is that there's a rush and these sites are getting noticed by G, some get flagged and drop in rankings due to these reasons:
    - competitors that try to eliminate you at all costs(click fraud, spam report, etc) and they've become very good at that... there are other tricks that i don't wish to mention here..
    - G started noticing unusually high CTR on ugly+one or 3 page websites and that means additional cost to advertisers and possibly less sales. that's something G doesn't like... i mean who would want to advertise with G if my adwords was draining quickly yet i wouldn't get any sales.
i'm dropping mini site approach taking a slower approach and grow my site just as i used to do before...

    Hi gulliver2010,

Thanks. Are you still targeting micro niches, though?

Hi Thomas, i use mnf from time to time... but for now i'm taking a break from micro niche stuff.. i tried and got distracted with all those mc keywords and ended up with nothing at the end. somehow i don't feel it's worthy to go after mc sites with 1000+ searches so i'm just sticking to my old approach of concentrating on building authority websites. they are very competitive keywords(10000+ searches and SOC above 100) but with good content and back linking strategy(web2.0+videos+bookmarking) i tend to dominate that niche in a few months time. You need a lot of patience and persistence...

i don´t know about ranking. I know of a few 1 page sites that are listed on the first page with just some bookmark links and a few forum signatures. Less than 100 links in total. I don´t know how good these sites will rank in the long run.

About Adsense I also don´t know for sure. These 1 page websites, optimized for a single keyword, do much look like what Google calls Bridge Pages. So far we know the term bridge pages mostly from Adwords, but Adsense and Adwords are just 2 sites of the same. Like the front and backpage of the same piece of paper. What applies to one should also apply to the other. The judgement of your site may depend on which person will evaluate it and in what mood he/she is.

    Hi Affiliated survivor,

Thanks for the heads up. Good input.

I should probably go for a small site then.

    Thanks.

IMO, there is no real "best structure"

I like to see if a niche is profitable. If it is, I write as many articles for it as possible.

After all, you can't really ever have enough pages..the more content you have, the better.

I like to start off with at least 10 pages, though, and expand from there.

I'm yet to see any of my 3-5 page sites rank high enough.

Not necessarily, rajiv. More pages will bring more visitors, hopefully, but unless you keep up with the link building and other promotional activities, it will not "automatically" help you stay top.
