Should I even TRY to rank my sites anymore?

I've been hearing all of this stuff about ranking on Google and the week after I put together what I thought was a solid backlinking plan and have been following through with it... Unfortunately, my motivation is slipping away as I see this sort of thing : /

    Keep at it!

All your hard work will eventually pay off. My first month I worked really hard to try to get my sites ranked and only made like 4bucks that month. Now those sites are bringing in about 500 a month and I really don't need to do much with them at all.

Yeah keep at it bud, as Gadz said its all worth it in the long run. You just have to remember that SEO isnt something that you do and then just get fed up and walk away, it has done to be done well and consistently for quite a while before you get stable results. And unfortunately if you are in a real competitive niche you will forever be maintaining your positions.

Look at it as a game, personally i hate loosing and i see my competitors as my next target so i set out and work hard until i have effectively beaten my goal. Most SEO's will go through periods of their career when they think they have had enough , but you just have to find that extra bit that gives you the motivation.

Ranking is a slow game not a quick fix. Let's face it, a quick rank is never as satisfying and one that lasts.

Is spinning my articles for use on web 2.0 properties going to be worth my time or do I need 100% new content on them?

Unique content will always help however there is nothing wrong with spinning a couple After all a backlink is a backlink. If it passes Copyscape i can be perceived by some as Unique , whether its seen like that to google who know's.

Just a little backlinking and you should start to see some success with rank or traffic by looking at your analytics. If you ever need help just ask the people here and we will help a bunch.

I appreciate it : ) What I've been doing is spinning the articles with links, then creating some shorter, but 100% unique modules beneath them for that web 2.0 site. Hopefully this will help me out. I'm hoping the EXACT context of the link isnt a problem as in: My article is spun and has links at the bottom, but the page also has unique content.
