My ezine article sitting at number #2...my site page sitting at #13?
- SEO |
I thought that by writing my article less well than my site page content that Google would not have my ezine article outrank the web page content. But it has!
Apparently Google came to believe my article was better than my site page  (but it really isn't).
I would of course prefer that my site page be up there. It's presently at 13 (varies from 12 to 17) and I am working on getting it up there. It has a ways to go though it won't take too much more on-page and off-page SEO to get it there I think.
But if I manage to get up to position #2 with my site page how do I compete with my own article? Do I just take down the article when I get that close? Can I delete articles from ezine? Should I edit it to be even less about the topic of the article? Purposely dumb it down some more? Is there some way for me to leverage the good ezine article position to help my site page up a bit?
I'd love to hear any suggestions or observations on this phenomenon and what if anything I should do about it.
