Weird SEO Problem... Help!

I have a website which is a lander with a blog attached as a page of the same domain. It was one of my first sites and I just built a lot of profile links and such to it... Basically, I want to go back and work on the site again now because I know more about SEO.

The only problem is, the blog, which is just there to have content, is actually ranking for the keyword I tried to rank the front page for (on like page 12) and the main site is nowhere to be seen in the results for this phrase. The site is most definitely still in the index but I can't find the lander ranked anywhere for the main phrase.

Anyone have any input on this? It's been over a month since I've built links to this site. Do you think adding links again from various methods will result in my lander being ranked again?

Thanks,

- Brandon

I've seen increasing incidents of pages losing rank as a result of low quality links, especially the type you pay for as well as reciprocal linking. Sometimes I tell people, imagine you are a google employee doing a quick manual audit of the links pointing to your site. How will you feel about those links?

On the flip side, what can you do to make sure the links pointing to your site come from good places? Get that right, along with some content worth visiting, and you will find yourself with a well ranked and profitable site.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

Do you think my landing page is "save-able"? I hit it with the packet links hard early on but I have a better system set up now.

Sometimes it just requires a bit of title and content tweaking and you should be able to get the 'money' page back up. If google could really be affected by a few spammy links, it would be way too easy to blast your competitors pages too.
