Hi.

On google Adwords keywords tool there is an option for exact match type ([]). Does this mean when someone on google is seaching for a keyword say 'apple cider', they enter it into google like [apple cider]?

Thanks.

Jim.

Exact match type means that somebody searched for apple cider. They did not include any other words, punctuations, and the words were typed in that exact order.

Whereas phrase match means the words could have appeared like:

    apple, cider
    the best apple cider
    apple cider recipes

    And so on...

Broad match means the search appeared, but not always in order, such as:

mom's best apple and cider recipes
whats your favorite cider at the apple orchard

    Ect...

    Hope that helps,

    -Nick

broad doesnt even necessarily mean that term was used, simply speak: Broad is broader than what people actually think. Google could even use a related keyword or a synonym

    Offiical right from G:
    Broad
Allows your ad to show for searches on similar phrases and relevant variations
this is why you should be cautious using broad.

Using phrase match is a good idea for your campaign. Although with the Google slap that just happened, I'm not too sure I'd want to be using adwords right now.
