My main site is too busy, gotta prune stuff from it, I've got to loose what isnt' paying it's way.

I can think of stuff to remove but I dunno if there is any SEO reason to leave the archived posts, (Previous Posts) on the front page.

I mean I've got a sitemap, is that not enough to ensure googlebot can spider everything on my site?

I keep hearing about site structure, ensuring that it's easy for the spiders to find everything we want it to find,... I'm running thesis, and allinoneseo

is that not enough?

can I safely remove the previous posts and not fear hurting my rankings?

  • If your archived pages are being crawled and related to the theme of your blog leave them alone. If they are not being crawled and indexed and are not benefiting the users of your site them prune.

I have one site that is very old with a lot of archived content that delivers a lot of traffic.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Thanks, problem is I dunno if the reason my older posts (domain is only a year old) are being crawled is because of the "archived" links on the main page.

On this serp: Company Facebook Pages

My links are showing up in what I think is called "sitelinks"

Is that perhaps BECAUSE of the archive links being on the main/ front page?
