HI there I have just started into my first business venture and just starting to learn about SEO.

My question is:

If i have a link on a page of a blog with PR 5 on the actual page were my dofollow link is, does a link on a simple website page with PR 5 also carry more authority? If so, how much?

i would say they are the same.. google and search engines only care about pages... they do not care websites.. each page has its rank in its own right...

Not very clear with your question.I guess you are meaning that whether you can get the same effect on a website with pr 5 and blog with pr 5?If so,the answer is yes.

sorry guys one last question: if you have say 6 PR5 backlinks on backlinking to the same domain but are on different pages each still with pr5, does that have the same effect as 6 PR5 backlinks on different domains?

Google PR refer to a page not site or blog and both are the same treated...

In exact count/weight it is the same, but go rather for diferent sites and class C-ip's

Every site has an IP address

An IP consist of 4 parts AAA.BBB.CCC.xxx - the first part is called A-class, the second part B-class and the third part C-class. So any IP under the last part will be in the same C-class. So for example:

123.123.123.1 and 123.123.123.2 are in the same C-class but
123.123.123.1 and 123.123.124.1 is in two different C-classes

If you only get links from the same class C IP range, google and other SE's may suspect that you are doing some nasty link manipulation with some blog or site netowrk hosted on the same hosting.

So you need and as much as possible class C or class B IP's ponting to your website.

Hope this explains a little bit more now
