Double Listing on Google is killing me!

Hi everyone. I have been getting a double listing for several of my keywords on my Google SERPs...which should be great however my home page is ahead of my inner page which is really messing up my conversions. My home page is just your standard blog home page but it's not targeted as well as the inner pages obviously.
So now when people search for a few of my keywords instead of going to the inner page where they should be...where all the backlinks are pointing...they are ending up at my homepage which if they look around hard enough they could find the right article...but most of them are leaving before they get where I want them.
My question is...why am I getting this double listing? I mean, normally I would be all for it...if it was in the opposite direction.. If my inner page was above my home page. I haven't build hardly any backlinks to my home page...all of my backlinking efforts are to the inner page. But no matter what my home page is above my inner page and its really messing up my conversions.
Anyone know why this might be happening? I would change it to make the home page display the inner page as a static page...but this is happening for 3 to 4 keywords which are all targeting different products.
There probably isn't anyway to fix this..but if anyone has had some experience with this and can make a recommendation that would be great. More or less I'm just griping.
