Profile Linking... Do You Need CONTENT?

I am using Angela and Paul's links for various campaigns and am was wondering if you guys thought that you needed to add, for example, a paragraph on your niche to each profile in order for it to make a difference for you in search engines or if you were fine just posting the links.

We all like to save time, but I'd rather do a little extra if the plain links won't help me at all.

    All my profile backlinking has been done by just posting the links. I'm not sure if you would get any seo benifit from adding content. It's possible you're profile would be deleted if the webmaster or admin found it too spammy.

      Profile backlinking was a big part of getting 2 of my clients on the first page.

    I do add text along with my links. This is only a just-in-case page relevance matters or makes a difference.

    I have a couple variations of text and links saved in a notepad doc, copy n' past.

    It may be a couple of extra steps per profile but it never hurts to play it safe.

    When I'm snoopin' around and scrapping other webmasters backlinks I've seen a mix of both methods but primarily link-only.
