What was your plan for backlinking? We here tons of stories but I wonder if any of the people actually have top ranking content that throw this stuff around.

    Links, links and links. Blog posts, forums, and profile pages have been best for me. Look around forums and you'll find more detail on all three

    They do. Bare in mind anyone showing you their top ten ranking from backlinking would crazy because the first thing alot of people would do is run a backlink checker and rip their backlinks sites. Its the main reason any site I talk about or link from here will never rank using my backlinks. Share it and you've given it all away to spammers etc.

      True, but the real funny thing is, spammers are always free to go an look up the top 3 sites ranking for any given keyword and check their backlinks. Whatever you want to rank for, just google it and see how it's done! You don't even have to limit yourself to any particular niche... a link is a link.

    Article marketing the old fashion way for me.

    However, I've also been hitting it with Linkvana as well (which is
    really just another form of article marketing).

      Just go get links. Any way you can. Get them.

    it depends on the level of competition. I mean for easy keywords all you need to do is throw up an article or a basic word press site and you will rank well in no time. However if its more competitive then you need to build a bigger site, add links etc

      Not just linkbuilding affect the rankings of your site you must also focus on the on page part cause I have a site that ranks well in google with only few backlinks on it if im not mistaken not more than 50 backlinks...
