Hi.

If I am creating an adsense website, is it best to ensure the quality of the info is not the best so traffic would choose to click the links instead?

Thanks.

If your site doesn't have quality content, then a lot of visitors may hit the "back" button instead of one of the links on your site.

Instead, I would aim to provide informative content, but not so in depth that there would be no reason to click the adsense links.

If your site seems to be filled with garbage information, the same may be inferred by the reader about the links and advertisers on your site.

My 2 cents, take it for what it's worth.

If the quality of the information is crap, your site will never gain any traction or authority and won't be a long term winner as far as traffic and income. You can include quality content AND design the site to maximize your CTR.

You need to take time and write good quality article, I have heard that you can write article in 15 minutes but it does not works so good to be true because if you write article in 15 minutes than it is not good rich keyword article, people will definitly leave from you page and find a good quality article

So what I believe write as you are helping people not for ranking, don't write for keyword, write for customer or user not ranking. Yes you have to think for ranking but when think as customer and write than you article will be more quality.

I hope this will help you out..

    Thanks

You maybe lucky to have gotten your ad sense account approved, Google always go thru a site before approving an ad sense code.

And one of the factor Google use before approving a site is the quality of imformation it holds.

Google often pay attention as well as run thru site that receive hundreds of clicks a day. You know what will happen when they find out you have nothing to offer(ban).

The content must be of relatively good quality.

You are not only hoping that the visior will vist and click, but you are also hoping that the visitor will remmeber the name of your site/blog and will visit many times again in the future, clicking on your adds many times in the future, resulting in your sit/blog seeing continued growth and profits.

I think the trick is to have really good content which fuels the desire for more. With any luck, the ads will have exactly what they need to quench that desire. Crappy content, as has been stated, will not bring in the mass traffic you need to make a ton from AdSense. I think you should always try to build the very best sites that you can.

So much nonsense in one thread
I just have to shake my head

Keyword relevant content designed to trigger higher paying ads and search engine visitors is the key. You aren't 'blogging' in a social sense, trying to build an audience with great content, but creating copy designed to subtlety direct 10-20 percent of these visitors to the ads.

      • I have been running adsense for a few years now and along the way I have learned a lot. You want quality information there to attract traffic to the website. But I have found the key with an adsense site is to drive "buying traffic" there.

What I mean by that is if you attract traffic that is looking to buy something you will have a better chance of them clicking on one of your ads. A site that reviews consumer goods and has adsense links on it will do a lot better than a site that has lets say free photoshop tutorials on it.

Just what I have learned. I hope this helps.

Quality content with a bit of curiosity built in.
In some niches people are looking to do more research than others before buying. For those type of niches you want to add to their knowledge but leave them wanting more

well if you do not want word of mouth.. referal.. recommendations..links.. and you can get targeted traffic inexpensively... the go for it... that is how parked domain works right? they have zero content...

but i would think that is a bad business model...

You always need quality content to get whatever traffic you get to stick around your website. But at the same time you dont need or want to give everything to them. By this I mean that the content is just enough to give them an idea on what they are looking for without giving them all of the answers. This way theyll be inclined to click the adsense ads to find out more. Its also important to make your page targetted to the keywrods youre targetting to get quality ads from adsense.

Better quality content is always the way to go.

The best thing you can do is supply great content and help your website go viral.

If a site has bad material generally I do not click a link on it, instead I hit the back button.

Man, I hate to do it, but I gotta disagree mildly with 90% of the replies here. Normally, you want great content because that creates stickiness. But honestly, and this is from someone who has created probably 200 sites with Adsense on them beginning literally from the first day Google made it public back in 2003 - you don't want the best content on your pages if you want more clicks. There, I said it. I hate that it is that way, but it is what it is. If you fully satisfy your visitors, you're gonna get fewer ad clicks.

PLEASE KEEP READING! Don't hang me out to dry just yet, ok? I am NOT saying you should fill pages with spun crap or regurgitated and unchanged PLR or anything like that. You probably can do that and get away with it, but that too will usually hurt CTR. You'll get a lot of back button pushers if you present them with utter crapola upon arrival. Shell shock = back button. Simple as that.

What I am saying is to tease. Don't satisfy the reader. It's like an article where you want to entice people to click your link at the end. If you leave the reader thinking, 'OK, that answers that' you've lost. Leave them thinking, 'Yeah, ok, but isn't there more to it than that?' and you'll get more Adsense clicks.

Trust me. Or don't. More clicks for me.

Hey Zeus, I will have to agree. You really dont want to put groundbreaking info. that answers all their questions on a Blog or Site centered around Adsense Revenue. But like you said you need to keep a balance and make sure it is still unique and original content and at least readable and has some redeemable value.

But treat it as a trailer you see at the Movie theater for an upcoming Movie not yet showing. Make them interested and peak their interest but dont show them everything right away. Let them work for it by Clicking on an Ad that may fully answer the question they are looking for !!

It is definitely a Skill that can be developed over time and Zeus and Bgmacaw are two of the best around at doing this !

It's exactly like a movie trailer. What a great analogy, discrat!

No basis for this advice since I'm new, but, watch your outbound links as well. Keep the reader clicking between your articles, but to get out of the site, AdSense should be the only option.

Here's an example of the kind of article I might write for an Adsense site, in this case on scar reduction...

How do people discover low cost scar reduction methods? Studies have shown that there is some doubt about using gels and sheets to do this. Certainly I am not blind to the faults and limitations of these methods but it is worth examining if you want to have all of the facts about these routines.

Everybody who has unsightly scars is trying to figure out a way to do away with them but not everyone can afford expensive restorative surgery. Finding a good way to achieve scar reduction seems like it is the hardest thing to do sometimes. Not many places publish that type of information and getting accurate info isn't easy. However, collecting scar reduction info is almost a hobby of mine. I'm attempting to be informative on this issue so as to save you time and effort in locating the best nonabrasive scar reduction technique that fits your needs and budget. I have been compiling all my scar reduction info here and this column is going to offer some suggestions for this. Hopefully this should be a helpful reference to you.

Here are some real world experiences and these are some exciting results. It is also worth noting this scar reduction isn't just an one time thing. A few weeks ago I was having a discussion with my friend on the email touching on his condition. For a variety of reasons, she made the decision to use silicone sheets for breast scar reduction. Here's why she did this...
I'd probably ramble on for at least 5-8 more paragraphs about the topic, speaking in general terms and not offering much in the way of real specific answers and keeping a personal, not technical, level.
