I have been goofing around with the black arts, and I am wondering if anyone wanted to share what their experiences at the hands of google have been. What caused it and what was the punishment, and did your site ever recover?
I am asking because I am trying to figure a risk vs reward kind of thing, and I appreciate any input from you guys.

I mostly play by the rules, so don't even think about it.
Don't play with adsense and blogger at the same time, for example.

If you get deindexed because you did something spammy then you are probably toast in regards to that domain.

If however you were the victim of a malicious attack, you can try writing a "Re-inclusion Letter" directly to Google. Might want to do a little research online to get some tips before you do so.

This is a site of mine:

    How To Lose Weight Fast

Which doesnt get indexed because someone in the past (in 2008) had a really ****ty site on this domain. Now i am the new owner, remade a whole new site and i THINK it complies with Google webmaster guidelines.

I already bookmarked and left backlinks....unique content etc..etc...AND i filed a reinclusion request explaining i am the new owner of the domain. I already got messages back from Google that they reviewed the site. STILL not indexed. Nothing. ****es me off since i have nothing to do whatever someone did with that domain in 2008.

And yes, i had other sites punished...one time i autoblogged to twitter..which was bad too, twitter acc canned and site deindexed

Has anyone ever gotten in trouble with Scrapebox or one of these other tools?
Hey George btw, I noticed that you only had a few backlinks I pinged and onlywired your site for you. This usually gets me indexed in like an hour when I launch a new site. I would be curious to know if it works for your weight loss site.

yes some other people did this already too because had a thread about this not that long ago and complained I might simply wait another week and see...and if it doesn't get indexed i might need to move the site.
Lesson: Before you buy a domain check its history

Nope... never had any issues with google that I am aware of.

I guess I could jump up n' down and claim I have a -30 penalty or something but the truth of the matter is I probably haven't put enough work into a site for it to merit ranking higher. I think this is generally the case for most webmasters who have sites that don't rank well... the site simply doesn't deserve to rank higher.

What have I done... I've spammed the hell out of blogs, created plenty of profile style backlinks and used other 2.0 sites as my own personal link farms. I've also dipped into scrapebox but I haven't run anything higher than a few thousand links at a time.

What penalties have I received... I have a site or two on the akismet spam list and a couple of sites and email accounts pop up on other spam lists. Occasionally I'll be shut-down by vBulletin sites when I try to create a new account so they are sharing a spammer database that I am on.

So far, google hasn't noticed me and has only rewarded me for my deviant webmaster behavior.

I also take certain precautions to help avoid google penalties... if they do exist.

I never start a fresh site and hit it hard with everything including the kitchen sink. I let my domains age and I'll pump them up with backlinks from my own network before I ever start-up the spamming machine.
