Hi all,

I have a site with adsense that gets 90,000 uniques a day - about 150,000 hits a day.

I just wanted to see what you would expect a site like that to earn - to see if what i do earn is about right.

I'd really like to move the ads / redesign the site to take advantage of the hits -- but im worried about losing my no.1 position on google. Is it safe to make changes?

All the money i make is from adsense - the ads that show are usally ebay/amazon - so is adsense the best ads for my site?

Sorry for no details -- i dont want to get click bombed, i just wanted some feedback to what $$ i should/could expect. -- i know there are people on here who earn loads more then me, and have much more skilled at designing sites to take advantage of hits.

Cheers!

Most likely an Image host or an entertainment website. For untargeted websites like those you can expect most of your clicks to be $0.01 with a very very low CTR.

You'd be better off exploring other forms of monetization.

Cheers Davioli -- if anyone has tried any other monetization for one of those type of sites - it would be great to hear the results.

I've only once tried affiliates and it made nothing - so the untargeted visitors do not want to buy - i'd need money when they just click.

      Thanks again.

Can't really say because it depends on the topic of your site.

I would not settle for anything less than $5/1000 visitors. So based on that you should be making at least $450/day from that site.

wow! Well i can tell you now that i'm not! lol.

If you tell someone what you are earning you risk your account dont you?

Well all i can really say is that i dont get anywhere near that.

Would it even be possible to get $5/1000 with a low untargeted image hosting/arcade type site???

      Cheers again

No, there's a clear line in the TOS of Adsense that says you can reveal gross earnings. Just don't give out the URL. Xfactor gives away his earnings of different sites, but doesn't give away URL's.

Yes, there are always things that can be done to earn more. Here are a few ideas.

    1. Create a premium membership that offers points/bonuses etc. Charge $5/month and you should be able to get at least 1/1000 visitors to join if you make it enticing.

    2. Make your users fill out surveys through CPAleads.com to access content or special features.

    3. Start collecting your visitors email addresses by giving away something for free. Then market to them about games/cameras depending on what your focus is and collect commissions through Amazon.

Those are a just a few, but it's pretty easy to think of new ways to make money when you have the traffic coming in, which most people fail to get.
