Tracking Links and SEO Value

Hi Warriors

Quick question:

I want to start tracking more of my advertising, but at the same time I don't want my backlinks to give me no SEO value.

If I use the following links:

http://www.mysite.com?source1
http://www.mysite.com?source2
http://www.mysite.com?source3

Will the backlinks provide SEO value to my site and help boost the website ranking whilst still tracking the traffic from each source?

I hope I've made sense.

Thanks,
James

Yes, they should still provide value. Focus on the anchor text of the backlinks. If you are really concerned you do a Mod Rewrite so the links look normal but still provide your information. BTW - why track that way instead of using an analytics package?

I am more inclined to believe that if you're using redirects that the juice will flow to the site you're redirecting through and not the end site. Tough subject though, can't say I KNOW the answer.

    Thanks guys.

I am using Google Analytics as well, but it's hard to track some forms of advertising.

For example, I'm doing a lot of paid solo ads and Google Analytics isn't so good at tracking this, so instead I'll be using the mysite.com?soload1 types of links.

    Thanks,
    James

Yes, this is fine for SEO....those are just parameters on the end so are ignored from an SEO perspective.
