I had discussions with them but passed because they wouldn't target just Google for my keywords. Traffic from the other engines isn't nearly as attractive to me.

Not sure what you were asking for, but....
They can't just target Google ... they target or rank
for keywords for your page or site.

As an example, my seven (7) keywords and phrases when
I search for them rank me on Google... if seached there
and on Bing... if searched there
On AOL... If searched there and etc.

Amazing enough, I am on the almost identical position
in each engine for each keyword or phrase.

Try your own URL in each engine.

WHAT? What is funny is I have very very high conversions from bing. Anyway, your post is nonsense. You can't only target one search engine, and why would you want to? Sorry but I'd rather have traffic coming from both yahoo and bing than ONLY be relying on google.

I am just guessing here, but I think what they were trying to say is that they are only interested in the ranking on Google and not from the other search engines. I would assume this is because of the "pay for performance" pricing model. It makes sense in that context. If Rankpay charges you once you get into the top 30 spots and they say "ok, you are #30 so it is time to start paying", but it is only #30 on Yahoo and #400 on Google, then the original poster's comment makes a little more sense (does not want to pay for ranking in Yahoo or Bing, but only in Google).

I wanted to cancel my contract but I can't because I apparently signed a 6 month contract. Good lesson for not reading the fine print I guess.

I wanted to cancel because I didn't get good results after 2 months. My ranks in Yahoo improved, but who cares about Yahoo? I'm still stuck at the same #17 after 2 months. May be they're good for low competitive terms - but then again there are others that will do it without the 6 month contract

I hate to say negative things about others, but have no option here

I have used them previously with the company I work for.

I would not waste my time with them again. They charged an unbelievable premium and would also find a way to get our URL ranked on page one when it came time for billing, yet it would then bounce back to its spot on page two shortly afterwards.

On top of that, there system of deciding if they will build out for a keyword is silly. I ranked for an extremely competitive keyword utilizing our own resources when they said it simply couldn't be done.

I would run the other way if I was you.

I think their rip off imo, you pay pretty much anywhere they rank you, page 2 you pay, page 3 you pay, anybody who knows search traffic knows that you only get traffic from being on page 1 and mostly up the top of pg 1, so paying for a page 2 ranking is paying for nothing.
