Adsense Not Showing Right Ads?

I put my first site together tonight, and I'm very excited, but I'm confused about something.

The ads aren't targetting my keywords. According to Spyfu, there are 12 advertisers, and 10 of them have my keywords as my title.

My url, meta tags, heading, subheading and even a picture all use the keywords, and they're peppered all through.

Please advise

Maybe I'm reading your post wrong.

there are 12 advertisers, and 10 of them have my keywords as my title.
You have 10 out of 12 ads with keywords, but you think that's bad?
I'd say 10 out of 12 is spectacular. Course I am confused about your
      statement about "my title."

Ah, sorry, I think I was unclear. What I meant is that I have 10 of my keywords on my page, plus in the title, url, keywords and so forth.

There are twelve advertisers with my exact keywords in their ad. None of them are appearing on my site.

Its a totally new site. As accurate as Google is, maybe you should give it a day or 2 before worrying about such stuff. I know it's a taboo to ask, but you have a url we can look at?

This is a curse of adsense, My friend just be happy if you get 2 or 3 ads that are targeted. Just check out the 1000`s of adsense sites swimming around on the web and look at the ads they are showing you will hardly ever see a complete ad box showing all targeted ads.

This made me crazy when i first started i could not understand it myself but this is just how it is belive me its normal.

Also like its be said here already you need to give the goodle adsense bots time to read your site i`ve no idea how long this takes but i know it can take over a few weeks for the `adsense` spiders to read your site.

So just so you know.. Its takes time for you site to be read by the spiders, Check out other adsense sites and see how targeted their ads are and you will see your not alone, Understand you will never get 100% targeted to you keyword ads, Just make sure your page is SEO as high as possible to your keyword there are a few tricks you can do to help the adsense spiders, If you get 2 or 3 targeted ads be happy !!

      Cheers Jim

    First:
Do not post your URL here...
but if you PM me I'll be happy to take a look-see.

It may take a day or two to get the targeted ads.
If your ads are still not targeted, check what ads you are getting, and how they can be on your page... It is SOMETHING on your page that makes these ads appear...

What meta keywords are you using? They make a big difference as to what ads are appearing. Maybe you are using some really broad terms? Tighten them up, and add k-words that are related to the ads you want. Or maybe the keywords are TOO targeted....

My last site showed only public ads. My keywords were right on, BUT, these keywords could also be setting up red flags as these keywords could also be targeting the adult industry. I deleted the targeted keywords, and added related keywords, brand names etc. and the ads are now displaying proper stuff. Sometimes you gotta play around with the stuff to get it right.

Remove any keywords you think could possibly trigger the unwanted ads, then wait a couple of days... (from content and tags)

If you still have unwanted ads you could ban them from your site.... But a ban is across all your sites, AFAIK.

One of my sites uses the word "asthma" not because the page is about asthma, but it just had to be there to make the content good. Well, this "asthma" word triggered a horde of ads dealing with asthma when my page has to do with hairballs that cats get. I had to put the word "asthma" into an image and insert it in order to get rid of the pesky asthma ads.....

Sometimes your content just spawns a whole bunch of unwanted ads that can be hard to get rid of cuz the advertisers may be bidding on those key words even though they may be a bit far fetched.

One of my sites have a page about aging pets.... well the only ads I get are for retirement homes in Florida....lol... Tried to fix it, but gave up and had to just laugh at the humour in it...

It's just part of the game...

Do the best you can, and then move on to the next page/site.

If the problem continues - look up "section targeting" on the adsense site. That script will help tighten the targeting for the ads but will take a few days to kick in.

For now, I'd just give it a bit of time.

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.

Check the titles of your posts. Make sure they contain the keywords and very little else. It is easy for google to get confused about what ads to show. Over tyhe course of a week or two you will see more relevant ads.

I was having the same problem. I had never heard of section targeting until reading this thread. Thanks, Kay.
