Adowrds network traffic who clicks?

Hi

I am running some cheap Network content image ads through Google. Having got hundreds of "clicks" and no sales...I wonder who is clicking here? I mean...it is people who obviously were interested in the image? Seems strange you can get 500+ tyre kickers and no sales.

This goes for text ads on the Networks as well. Why is the converision rate so low? Can it be profitable? I am starting to think it's a waste of my money.

    Could be many things:

    * not targeting the right audience
    * promising something in ad but page not delivering
    * wrong landing page for what ad says
    * poor sales message
    * people clicking out of curiosity

      Hi, just wanted to add that I'm experiencing the same as sloanjim. Tried out 3 Google Network content image ads campaigns so far, on products that convert well elsewhere. I had hundreds of cheap clicks but no conversions.

      I think I've addressed the first 4 of Lucid's points:
      * not targeting the right audience
      * promising something in ad but page not delivering
      * wrong landing page for what ad says
      * poor sales message

      Not sure how to prevent '* people clicking out of curiosity', though. Any ideas?

      Anyone else experiencing similar?

      Thanks

      Damian.

    You can't prevent this. There's always going to be a certain percentage seeing your ad and going "gee, that looks interesting". It's called branding. Maybe when they are ready to buy, they'll remember you.
