I just happen to stumble few of the PR 5 to 6 article directories and some of them actually offer a charge service like measly $2 and more.

I have the impression that spending a few bucks for a backlink will do me good in the long run but on the other hand, I rather skeptic on the whole paid things.

Will those paid article directories will make my link building more easier or it is just completely waste of time and money? There are few things that boggling on my mind for now.

So I would love to hear what is the warriors though about this matter.

and by the way, List Of Top 50 Article Directories By Traffic, PageRank

Should I submit my articles to every article directories in that list or only selective one? I don't like buzzle and other article directories that demand too many profile, setting and information for me.

I highly appreciate you guys input on this.

It's going to depend on whether you're using a unique article for each directory. While I know the topic of duplicate content is hotly debated I think that there's a strong possibility that you'd be wasting your money if the paid versions of your article ends up in the supplemental index.

Definitely not as powerful as a one way link from a good content site.

Personally I wouldn't waste my time, expecially since directors aren't niche oriented.

I own an article directory and I wish I could charge. There are so many high quaility free directories and I doubt that I would do much business.

I wouldn't pay for directories. There are too many places for related links you can find if you research enough.

I don't think it is worth it, at least I see good success submitting one article (without spinning) to the top 5-10 article directories.

I don't think the paid directories are any better then EZA for example.

Can anyone name a paid article directory better than EZA?

Your answer to that question would then answer the topic
      question here.

You dont really need to use them unless they are willing to create a unique version of the article for each site they submit to.

There are sufficient quality free article directories out there which are good enough to build credibility and increase yrou rankings.

    Good luck

It is education in article marketing - a guide book and monthly newsletters - with a directory thrown in!

Although article directories are good sources of backlinks, I do not think paid directories are worth it. Article directories are excellent sources only when you are doing mass submissions (spinning your contents), and the end result is a good ROI since you are getting hundreds of links for a relatively small time (or money) invested. But if you got to pay $5-$6 for a single link, it is just not worth the effort. I would rather get 50 social bookmarkings done for the price.

I picked too random articles off the front page of the site
quoted above. I skipped wizard of oz as that's kind of
a topic that's not broad enough. But:
      meet singles article
      burn fat gain muscle article
(I had to add the article word to be sure and get just articles)
      were 2 pretty broad categories.
Did a google search and both times the EZA articles came
      out on the first page.

Did the burn fat gain muscle without the word article. Still,
the EZA article came up on the first page. And that article
      is from 2007.

I am too lazy to do more. I'm sure the article site above
kicks butt, but EZA at free still seems like a better deal.

      But, point taken.
Article Directory - Article Marketing Community seems to be a paid article
directory that would be first on my list if I was going to pay.

        Hi Paul,

I wasn't going to post in this thread, but since some of our articles were placed on the table, I felt I should chime in and tell the REAL story.

With all due respect, those article were just published. It takes longer than a day to rank for those broad keyword terms.

For the record, the two articles you checked have specific keyword terms for which they were optimized. They were not just thrown out there to rank for the broadest terms. The first one is optimized for "Formula to burn fat and gain muscle". You can see it is ranked #2 for that phrase here...

formula to burn fat and gain muscle - Google Search

I saw an article from ArticlesBase down on the first page and one from ArticleSnatch on the 2nd or 3rd page. EZA? Nowhere in sight.

Moving to the other article, it was optimized for the keyword phrase "meet singles online and find true love" - as you can see, it is ranked #4, and just look at that competition! There is an ehow article at the bottom of page two and EZA nowhere in sight.

meet singles online and find true love - Google Search

...and both of these articles are ranking like this for other long-tails.

No offense, but if you think you can submit an article ANYWHERE, and have it ranking on the first page of Google for "Meet Singles" in 24 hours, then you need to do some more article marketing and figure things out.

Really, I am not just being defensive, I am actually suggesting that anyone who thinks along these lines needs to get out there and find out what the real article marketing world is like. It takes more work than just submitting articles. And if you want an article to rank for a broad term (which I don't usually suggest), then it will take even more work.

It takes some time and strategy to get an article solidly placed on the first page of Google for terms like that. And, as Nicola said above, we teach people how to do that...in fact, we do a great majority of it for them now. These articles you looked at are not only ranking wonderfully for their optimized phrases, they are also part of a greater plan.

Once they are ran through our promotion system, they will solidify their rankings and will begin ranking for those broader terms.

You see, since we implemented our "paid" article directory model, there have been a lot of attempts to duplicate it. All but one of them have failed. Why? Because they didn't offer anything of value to their authors.

Paid article directories will fail unless they a.) have traffic the likes of EZA, GA or AB or b.) offer their authors something of value other than the ability to publish an article!

Plus, in my opinion, simply charging someone to publish articles on your domain is a form of paid advertising - something that the Big G looks down upon.

I could go on forever, but I won't - you guys have a great Monday!

        Allen

p.s. Those directories out there that charge $2 to register are not really "paid article directories" - they are simply trying to keep the spammers at bay by placing a monetery barricade.

Hey like I said, point taken!

The question I raised was if someone can or cannot give an example
of a paid article site as good or better than EZA, then
that answers the question. I had not heard of Article Directory - Article Marketing Community,
as I am sure a lot of others had not either.

I think it definitely works but you should consider some elementary factor
like PR of article , popularity etc & approval rate as well.
