Starting To Climb The Google Serps...Now What Do I Do?
- SEO |
I have a music based website that is well over a year old. I had this site developed long before I started to become really educated from the warrior forum. It has been getting minor organic traffic over this past year, but I have started to implement SEO and Backlinking methods that I have been learning on the warrior forums.
Here is my scenerio: I started to target 4 keyword phrases about 2 months ago that are pretty dang competitive and get a good amount of monthly searches. The highest being about 15k global per month.
I first paid for 1000 directory submissions. I had them done in 250 weekly increments and have gained quite a few backlinks from these submissions.
I also started to do quite a bit of blog commenting which has also really boosted my backlinks.
After doing these two things, I was sitting on page 3 for all 4 keyword phrases.
I then subscribed to Angela's backlinks and threw one months worth of backlinks at my website focusing on those keywords. I have been using the Google Slingshot method to get them indexed.
Last week, my site pretty much fell off of the SERPs for those keywords as I was experiencing the Google Dance. Then 3 days ago I checked my rankins and I am not sitting between positions 9 and 12 for all for keywords! This is very good news.
I am sorry for the long post, but I wanted to give you some background on the matter. So, now that I have gotten this far, I basically don't want to screw up my rankings, but I am greedy and want those #1 spots. I do not want to settle for where I am at.
Should I let things level out for a bit? Maybe add some forum and blog commenting backlinks and then throw some more profile links to my site? Or should I just continue using profile links along with blog commenting and forum posting?
My main goal is to continue climbing the SERPs without screwing up the rankings that I have already gained.
Cheers.
Thanks
Zaheer
