guys,

I think I've had too much coffee this morning, can't figure out anymore how to put a link + anchor text in a blog comment!???

I can't put in the full HTML < a href = "the link"> my anchor text < / a>
and I can't figure out how to use the 'abbreviated' <a> syntax?

can you help please?

thanks

Veit

PS: I know in some blogs I can only use the name field as anchor text, but some blogs allow URLs in the comment. That's where I want to use specific anchor text.

If they allows a href links then you should be able to do just that. Also, is there a specific reason why you are wanting to place a link within the comment itself. 99.9% of these will get pulled out by Akismet etc. Unless you have a viable reason I'd just use your keywords as your name or look for logs that have th keywordluv plugin.

yep, it's because this particular blog doesn't have a "name" field, so I somehow have to get my link into the comment.
Others have managed to do it before me, so there must be a way.

I've tried the code above (first reply) and I'm getting an error message.

when I look at the source code, the previous comments with link then have a perfectly normal A HREF in it

      Cheers

ah, interesting. The error occurred with firefox.
re-submitted with IE and it went in just fine (well, it appears to be in the queue to be moderated) at least there's no error.

        thanks for the feedback!

Thanks Andy for your tips. Is there any Google trick to find blogs using the keywordluv plugin?

All you need to do to find good dofollow blogs to comment on that are in your niche, is to do a search. I use a search something like this:

"examplekeyword" "commentluv" "leave a comment" -"no comments" "dofollow" -"nofollow" “autoapprove” –“moderation” –“moderator”

Just replace your keyword (niche) where it says: "examplekeyword"

I never heard of keywordluv. I believe it is commentluv, but if there are both, I'm sure it would work for both.

I'm still confused. Let's say my keyword is "junk food" what would I write in the name box of comment? Do I need to use html or just keyword??

For most blog commenting, you can use an app called Easy Hyperlinks, at easyhyperlinks.com. Considering it offers you the HTML code and BB code, depending on which ever the blog is using, you can also use it anytime you need these codes, which is pretty often if you are a blogger or affiliate marketer.
