I am just wondering how long, your longest Google Dance has lasted with any of your search terms? I understand the difference between a slap and dance. A couple of mine have been missing in action for 2-3 weeks now. Is this normal?

Yep thats normal, people say the average is about a week or so, but more realistically it can take up to 4 weeks to settle down (based on experience). It'll bounce all over the place during this time.

the more competitive or active a keyword is the more 'dance' you can expect, especially if your site is not a solid top 10 contender.

If you're trying to rank for something like '**** berry' or 'real estate' you can expect your site to be in a constant state of dancing due to the amount of competition and activity that keyword receives. You'll constantly be fighting back and forth with thousands of other webmaster and sites constantly bumping each other up n' down.
