Hi all,

The Google webmaster tools show that my site is in the top 10 for a particular keyword in google SERP. But when I did a google search for that keyword, my site does not show up in the SERPs at all.

Is this normal or what?

Thank you in advance.

Webmaster Tools is usually a little bit off on keyword ranking...but often times it is very close to your true position. I will make a couple of recommendations.

1.) Personalized Search will skew search results based on your previous searches and provide you with results based on previous websites you may have visited.

2.) Different data centers sometimes have different sets of results. Sometimes, webmaster tools may be accurate on one data center, and not accurate on another data center.

I would say give it a couple of days...keep doing what you did to get your webmaster tools to say that. (i.e. backlinks). In a couple of days, it may show up.

You can also use this tool to check your SERP result:

    Hope that helps.
