Is Google Advertising really worth it

I am working for a client that has 5 hotels and they spend $50,000 on google adwords after researching the web presence of the company I found that they had google index listings in the top 5 for the destination name.

I also found that they where mentioned on tripadviser and on a few hotel booking websites.

so is it really worth using google adwords ?

My thoughts are that they would be better off using that budget on developing widgets and other viral marketing concepts.

Well it really depends on how much they are making off that budget. I've run campaigns where I spent $10 in a day with no sales...so was that worth it? No. I've also run campaigns where I spent $80 in a day and made $400...was that worth it? For me, YES! For other people, they'd want much more. It really all depends on what they are getting from their advertising...just like any other form of advertising you pay for, you have to see the results and then determine if its "really worth it" or not. But unless you see their sales figures or know their purpose in advertising that way, you really wouldn't be able to make an accurate judgment. Just my thoughts.

  • Clearly they have the data you need to "do the math".

Measuring ROI with Adsense is not that difficult.

I'd bet someone has done the math on an account that is spending $50K a month. And somebody must have statistical information you can look at.

If I were a big company I would want all 10 top listing and all the PPC listings. Why give your competition any chance?

With testing, they ought to get the entire right side.

You can try it and see the ROI.

If it doesn't work, invest in some SEO. In my opinion the ROI is much bigger.

with kind of budget they are tacking it right? Surely? So they have to answer the question. It seems they are ammnig so much money they really do not care... :-)

On the face of it it seems unlikely if they are getting good organic searches.

        Thanks for the info.

Question: Could you spill some beans and let us know:
        (generally/on average)

-what the price point(s) are for the products he's selling?
-Margins for the product(s) (cost of goods minus total sale price)

Difinetly it is worth and you can make some quick and big money but before you begin advertising in any adword i suggest you to do some keyword research and learn keyword strategy....

    HI

if they are spending that kind of money in adwords.. that is crazy... They could get the same result from adwords with 5-10k if they did it right and the other 40k they could spend on other marketing efforts.

  • I, personally, am not a fan of AdWords. Been there, done that.

The question is, if one can receive the same rankings for an organic or natural listing, which costs $0 per click, why pay for AdWords? Yes it can direct traffic from targeted sites, but is that worth $50,000/month? When I have researched ROI it has been quite low.

    I hope this info helps.
