'www' not showing in Google search result

Google has indexed my new site, but its missing the ' WWW ' in the the result - when I put in a search for my root domain.

So underneath the title and snippet I have:
domain.co.uk, which obviously is not what i want.

My Webmaster tells me the site is as should be etc.

I've submitted the full URL to Google, so i'll wait to see if on the next visit it changes but i'm thinking there could be more of a problem here?

Help etc appreciated.

    You can choose if you want Google to display the www or not. You just have to verify that you are the owner through Google Webmaster Tools. What every you choose, to use www or not, just be sure that you use that same structure in your internal linking to avoid URL Canonicalization

      Mike is spot on there. You have the option to specify whether or not to use the www or not whilst inside the Site Configuration>Settings section of GWT.

      I guess i should have used my initiative a little more and gone through Google Webmaster tools a little more thoroughly.

    Verify both domain (www.xyz.com and without xyz.com) in Google Webmaster tools and prefer a domain you want to see in Google search results.
