Hi

I bought a 3 word KWP domain and all three extensions were available. I though I should buy all 3 to deter competition but Im wondering if there is any advantage to using the .net and .org somehow ?

Should I just use the .com and ignore the other 2 or do some sort of domain redirect from the .net and .org to the .com ?

Would Google look at me better for buying all 3 and using them somehow ?

Thanks in advance for your advice

I read that you if use a different hosting company for the other domains to get link juice - I believe that if the big G sees the same domains coming from the same host they ignore it and you don't get any benefit.

Perhaps other more experienced experts could give a more precise explanation if this is incorrect or misguided,

    cheers

I work for a company with about 15 domains. We experimented with multiple servers a couple of years ago, and it didn't seem to change our rankings at all. After about 6 months, we dropped all of our hosting companies except for one. (Note: Google is always changing, so don't take this as gospel.)

I'm not sure why you would buy all 3 domains as it won't really deter competition, there are probably thousands of other domains that could still compete and out rank you.

You could probably just redirect the other domains to your main domain but as far as I know Google doesn't care if you buy one or all thredd domains

OK that's the kinda of info I was looking for, thank you. I guess I will just use the .com and ignore the other 2.

Use all three. Build the sites with different content and maybe two out of the three will rank, this way you can dominate the first page for that keyword and double your earnings.

I also thought about using all 3 with different content. Perhaps that will be a long term plan. I was just wondering if pointing the other 2 to the .com had any advantage but so far no one has confirmed my theory

      Thanks

TLD doesn't effect much SEO-wise, as long as it's not like .tk / co.cc or whatever.

This will not really help you in your rankings if they are all hosted on the same server. You want your backlinks coming from different IPs so in terms of seo I don't think there is any point in attempting to point them to the .com. What you could do is use these to launder links though. Load them up with thousands of spammy links from blog commenting, forum posting, mass article submissions, ect. Then point links from these sites to some of your web 2.0 properties that you have built minor authority to, and then shoot links from your web 2.0 properties to your money page. Just depends on how much effort you want to put into it.
