how long to get a page/site to PR4 and show BROAD results?

ok, ok, I know the answer is of course: "it depends".

What I'm after is a range: how long did it take you to get a site or individual page to PR4 and then show in the results for BROAD matches?

I know I'm supposed to go slow first with getting links to avoid sandbox, then it'll take a while to get page-rank, and then I guess I can start throwing links at the pages.

any thoughts?

thanks

Veit

PS: regarding the "depends": I'm happy to go about this fairly aggressively, use video, banklinking services (Angela...) but it's not going to consume my life. So, some average times, that's what I'm after.

    Hi Veit,

Good seeing more solid consultants over here.

I got a site of mine, with a fresh brand new domain to PR3 in about 4-5 weeks. The site has around 200-250 indexed profile links, 5-10 directory links and 2-5 PR6+ blog comments.

Dont go overly crazy building backlinks. If you want your site to increase its PR, hand select your backlinks. Dont make tons of random profile and directory backlinks. Filter out the crap ones and focus on the ones that you know will work.

The ratio above is not exact but its pretty close to the real thing.

    Cheers,
    Francisco

      Francisco,

thanks -- that's what I thought -- around 200-300 in the first month to avoid the sandbox.

All in all good news, PR3 in 3 months, with a bit of luck I should get it up to PR4 within the year.

      cool, thanks

oh, and if anybody has *first-hand* experience for PR4 or above, please let me know -- is 1year from start realistic?

    It depends. :p
Alright, below are my own experience

    Real life example:
I have seen one crappy site (Actually not very crappy, just some normal looking site) have PR5 on its homepage, and it only takes 3months at the time I noticed. (May be less)

    Personal experience:
PR3 within 2 months, built with all type of backlinks sources including software site, all of them only contribute a little percentage of my backlinks profile.

IMHO, Angela profile backlinks won't get you PR, but it is some backlinks with PR will give you PR, for example if adobe.com links to you from their home page, you will... ... .. ..(Fainted)
