Hello, I'm attaching two reports that I generated from the new niche research tool that Ryan E and myself are building. These reports show what happens when you enter a keyword and let it rip:

* The tool finds long tail related keywords starting from the main keyword(s) you gave
* Then it finds avg monthly search volume and last month search volume from Google's External Keywords tool
* And then it finds available exact match com, net, org, and info domains

In the future we may extend it to also find articles, product reviews and blog posts related to each of the found keywords, and to calculate various measures of strength of organic competition for each keyword found. That's not there yet.

We wanted to present these reports FREE here, to garner opinions whether such a tool would be useful, and what additional functionality you'd like to see added.

We're also also asking how we should monetize the tool. Instead of selling the script, we were thinking of either:
  • a for-pay limited number of subscribers mailing list where you'd get a new report each N days,
  • or a membership site where you'd pay for N tokens each month and then you could buy reports on keywords that YOU entered
Which of these would be more attractive, and why?

i would say you sell the software..

and add in 'keyword extractor from a link' feature (like GAKT). Should have and option either to use exact or phase match

Anyway good software there and i really like it .. thanks

We're most likely NOT selling the script. We'll sell the reports.

Can you explain this keyword extractor thing? I'm not sure what GAKT is.. Thanks!

GAKT = google adwords keyword tools

In GAKT there 2 way of searching keyword. 1 - by keyword 2 - by link.

      I like it.

I'm not sure how keen I'd be on buying reports but I would probably be keen on buying the script.

Just out of curiosity, what would people consider fair price for the actual script that did what it does now plus all the planned added features PLUS free-for-life updates?

    Is $497 a fair price?

Your added features are already done by Market Samurai. A tool like MS is needed to be used in conjunction with these reports as they provide no competition analysis. It is just a mass query of domain names using either Google Suggest and/or Google KWT as its source list. I wouldn't find it worth $497.

Your market is going to be people looking for exact domain name matches for microsites. I can't see why anyone building authority or even more fleshed out sites would find it usefull because they work in the reverse order. They find a good keyword that is easy to rank for and then find a domain to suit. The process doesn't take long at all so I can't this saving much time.
