I'm getting sick and tired of websites putting crap on my pc whenever I visit them. Not sure what sites they are - but today - my computer was slowing down and I found out a 3 gig program was on my PC. Hey - I didn't put it there...so from here on out - I'm surfing by proxy.

THe thing is - I don't know what proxy server to trust. They might take my financial info or put crap on my pc or whatever. Just wondering if someone knows of two or three trustworthy proxies.

Unless you create your own private proxy, I wouldn't trust public or any private ones I rent from some stranger as you do not know if it is storing any information on you.

And it's not expensive, i think you can buy 10-20 private proxies for $20 or something like that. I'm also user of public proxies but i didn't have that kind of problem, maybe because I'm mac user.

Proxies won't help, programs will still come through them to your computer. You should upgrade to windows 7, it's pretty impressive after using XP for years.

If you want protection, all free, download these and keep them updated:
    AVG - for antivirus
Malwarebytes - for spyware and everything else
Spybot with Tea Timer - just in case
CCleaner - to remove your private information and keep your browsers clean

Play around with the options. That should keep you extremely safe.
