PPC question (probably dumb)

Sorry guys - I should get a prize for dumb questions I reckon - anyway, here it is:

In, say, your Google adwords ad, you have a heading, text, then a display URL and then the actual destination URL. My question is, can you put anything you like in the display URL e.g.

display url: www.SmokeFreeToday.com with an actual destination which is nothing like that, but an affiliate link to a landing page or something, or is the display URL meant just to be a 'display' version of your own domain name.

Yes, you can. I believe the domain needs to be the same though.

If you make your display URL www.SmokeFreeToday.com, the final domain after all redirects must be www.SmokeFreeToday.com.

Yes..You can't put a fake domain name with a keyword (for high ad ranking) in URL..It must be the actual URL which the visitor finally landed in.
