Allintext ultimate research tool?

i have been doing ppc for the longest time... every time i try to do seo people tell me differnt ways to do the research... i use market sam and did a test.... according to the what i was originaly taught 1 key word 9 phrase match 100 searches a day, using that research i tried to rank it... about 6 weeks nothing..... tried to rank another word in the catagory just because allintext was under 500.... and bam ranked in 1 day.... wtf.... it has 200 searches a day... and comp of 800,000...... how the hell did i rank for that but cant rank for one with no comp... is all in text all that matters now adays? ps my linking is good and seo is fine dont need help with link strats
