will deindexing hurt my ranking???

I had a page that was sitting on google page 1 then it was de-indexed (i changed the content and resubmitted my hub) and it was reindexed and now its on page 7....

is there any chance this badboy will jump back up or will the fact that it was deindexed at one point permanently destroy my ability to rank for a keyword?

thanks,

I guess it depends a bit on why Big G de-indexed the site.

If they de-indexed becuase they thought the content to be "junk" then its unlikleyyou will get back up there..

If its just disappeared from the serps for a while (does not mean de-indexing) then it may get back up their depending on how good the new content is ..

Definitely there is hope and the fact that you were there before increases that chance. Besides changing the content a little, have you been adding external links of low quality toward that page? (ex. paid somebody to get links for you)

it was a Hubpage that was "unpublished" because i was over-promoting. However i talked to the admins there and changed the amount of links i had on the page and it was republished but it came up on page 7 instead of page 1 like it was before it was unpublished
