Blog commenting with your link in there

Hello fellow warriors. I'm new here and am clueless how to use this {blog commenting} to actually get my link in there as a backlink. I read blogs but rarely or never comment on them. Most I've seen don't even let guests comment. Much less put your link in there. Wouldn't that be considered spam? I know I'm missing something here. Also aren't most of them nofollows?

I'm probably sounding like an idiot so will stop now and see if anyone has any helpful advice...thanks in advance!

    Hello there,

Well, blog commenting is an excellent excellent method to get low level backlinks.

Most of the wordpress blogs out there are no-follow. But comments posted in most of the blogengine blogs are auto-approved and are do-follow. But these blogs would have already been spammed to death.

Still its a good strategy to follow, especially to power up your web 2.0 properties/articles/hubs/squidoo lenses etc.

You may not get your comments approved if you put your keyword as your name, since blog owners will immediately take you as spam. However, there are some blog owners who don't really care about this.

When you build backlinks, never resort to only one type of links. Google Loves VARIETY.

    Hope this helps.

    Tom

Thanks! It does help. I'm going to probably look up more about blog comments before I try it. I feel guilty just spamming other people's sites. I know how annoying it it when it happens to me.

I've so far focused on reciprocal links, a few profile links and lots of forum links, but want to keep things balanced so glad I'm at least thinking in the right direction...

I actually have so many forums I know of that are dofollows, would it actually be possible to set up a site and sell the list? Or even sell it here, if/when I have enough posts? Do people buy that stuff? And should I make a new thread for asking about that?

Again, very new to internet marketing, and clueless, and just wanting to make a little much needed cash on the side without scamming, spamming, or other abuse. I feel that always comes back to haunt you.

If you can get a do-follow links from blog commenting then it will be very helpful for your keyword rankings.

Many blogs also have 'keyword luv' which means you can actually use your keyword as anchor text.

The best thing to do is to look at the other approved comments. If any of them have a keyword in the name field then use your keyword but limit it to 2 - 3 words max.

Never include your link in the comment box. It'll get blocked or deleted so I wouldn't bother.

Most important thing is to read, or at least scan over the blog post and then write a worthy comment relating to the post. This can be an opinion, a tip or something else of value. The last rule of thumb... never post things like 'Nice post!' or 'I really love reading your blog. I will come back again soon'.

It's worth spending a minute or two per comment on a high PR page in order to increase your chances of having it approved. If you spam them or offer no value then you won't get anywhere.

I recommend Fast Blog Finder v3.0 for commenting. Just use it wisely.

I personally use ScrapeBox for all my blog commenting, and I agree with Andy above in that you can't just go randomly commenting "nice post" any expect any kind of success.

Try and comment on something that has a large following and a topic where most blog posts would be fairly related to one another. That way, you can create a comment that will make more sense to the blog posts.

If, however, you're commenting on blogs manually then none of the above will come into play.

Thanks so much guys. I'm going to go google stuff on it now, since unlike forums I don't really know much of anything about it. I'll let you know how it goes. Seems pretty tricky. I'm also really good at messing this stuff up. Are there any blogs you guys know of that are good for this and that you've commented on? Like some sort of example.

Edit: Oh my god, fast blog finder is horrendous. It first wouldn't let me put my comment through in the window, so I took the time and loaded it all up in Firefox. Then it said I ahve to be logged in to comment.

I'm beginning to think I'm cursed here.

Okay I found 1 blog and it turned out to have no real content even though it was Pr 3. Also all comments were moderated and there were 10 other comments awaiting moderation. I skipped it since there was nothing to reply to anyway.

Posted on one, and when I refresh the window the post doesn't come up.

Can't see how that's really going to help so i put it through two more times. Same result.
