    On page factors are

    1. Title tag
    2. Heading Tags
    3. Keyword in the url
    4. how close the words are on the page
    5. Keyword in the Anchor Text
    6. Keyword Use in Image Alt Text

    These days onpage optimization is not very important. Even though must not be ignored.

  • I don´t agree. Onpage optimization is very important. You will not rank for onpage Seo alone but if you do something wrong it will be much harder to rank high.

      I would say On-page optimization is as important as off page optimization. You can not ignore it. If in case you ignore it then you can not think of desired results. You will have to optmize your webpage through both - Onpage optimization and Off page optimization stuff.

        * Keywords in your URL.
        * Keywords in your title tag.
        * Keywords in your description tag.
        * Keywords in your individual post/page titles.
        * Keywords in your content.

        But don't overdue it by stuffing keywords everywhere or it will have a negative effect. Just a few here and there. Make it natural.

    I think on-page optimization is LESS important than what it was some years ago. On-page SEO alone will NOT rank your site of course.

    On-page optimization is basically the process to PRESENT your site to google in the best possible way, to make it clear to google what your site is about...but then for the ranking itself you need to do link building and the usual off-site stuff.

    Is it important? Yes....but as i said...i don't think it has *that* weight anymore as it once had, content and off-site has simply become more important.

    Hi there,

    On-page optimisation is still important but should be seen as part and parcel of setting up your site. The number of web designers who continue to put together client websites without any understanding of why the site structure is important or without doing any competitior or keyword research continues to amaze me. WHY DO THEY DO IT!

    It really comes down to how competitive your target market is. It's actually pretty easy and quick to rank for a particular keyword with just on-page optimisation in less competitive markets. I got a site to number 3 on Google for "Marathon Training Schedule" within 2 weeks. Not a competitive term granted but I didnt even have any content. It was a Wordpress site with just a title and "Hello World". So yes it can be done.

    In the real world however it doesn't have such an impact. Incoming links from authority websites within your market will ensure your site ranks well, regardless of any changes that Google makes. Concentrate on quality rather than quantity here. 2 or 3 incoming links from relevant authority sites will serve you better than 50 incoming links from sites that have no relevance to your market.

    You do still need to ensure your site is set-up properly. Its just good practice from a users perspective too, regardless of its positive effect on natural rankings.

    Sorry bit of a rant in the end :-) Hope thats helpful anyway.

    All the best.

    I think onpage Seo is much more. I have a site I had astores in the content and was ranking nowhere. I removed the astores and put the affiliate widgets in the right sidebar, so in the code, the links appear at the bottom of the page where they look less important, and now I´m on page 2. Only because of some onpage changes. Google does not like affiliate sites so your onpage Seo has to take that into account. And there are more things like that.
