Hey everyone,

If I'm looking to create quick squido lenses for back links to my sites. Is it fine to use the unique content from my main sites for the squido lens content?

I created a few lenses with this method and it only took me about 5 minutes a lens, seems to easy, considering these are great back links (so I've heard).

I've heard that there is no such thing as a duplicate content penalty from google, but I thought I as you guys the experts

Thanks,

JB

It depends on what you are doing.

If you want squidoo for backlinks, then as long as
your lens is indexed, it's a backlink. Unique content
      or not.

If you want your lens to rank high in SERPS, then
it depends on how you do it. I have done it both ways.
Copied or spun. Right now one that I have spun does
better than one that I didn't. But, I also have done
more for the one that ranks higher.

The thing is, you need to keep editing and growing a lens.
So, add the copied stuff, then add a little more, then a
little more, and soon you have a great lens. A 5 minute
lens is probably not worth even doing.

I agree, a five minute lens doesn't seem like it's worth doing, I normally spend alot longer. Do you have images, video and other media, have you filled in your bio, tags etc, how many other other modules have you taken advantage of, have you checked your Health Stats to see how good squidoo thinks your lens is, Health Stats are only a guide but they're a good one

If you've not done any or much of the above it's very unlikely your lens will rank where you'd like it to. If you don't want to be bothered doing any of the above I'd suggest you stick to directories like Ezinearticles and Go Articles.

As for the content, mix it up, use some PLR and use some unique and just keep building and building.

Submit some of your PLR to article directories as well to generate backlinks and traffic to your lens.

Try and use unique. If duplicate, the link may count but it wont appear in the search results because being similar to other pages with the content already

I don't think duplicate content will be given much preference by Google. So it's desirable to use unique content.

It is not working good.. Write some good and new content and put it in the squido lens. I have much more experience in the squido lens. I am working in it... In squido there are many modules use it also.. It will be good for your lens.. If you want to see and examples go to this page and there is one model page of squido lens..

Link a blog to the site with RSS feed and everytime you post to your blog then it appears as new content on your squidoo page.

I definately agree with Paul I have made lens both ways and have had the same varied results. if you merely want backlinks then don't neglect hubpages. Ingeneral my hubpages make more money than my Squidoo lens.

Alo add Flickr photos and change them avery day, video too that makes your site change, when it doers republish the lens
