Web 2.o properties in linkwheel all from same IP

Hi. I am creating some web 2.0 properties to link to my money site, I am brand new at this linkwheeling concept. I have read a few opinions that say you should host each account differently? (don't even know if I have that right...) so that each blog doesn't appear to be coming from the same IP address? I am using the free version blogs so my domain is, for example keyword.blogspot.com

Is this still a concern when you are not self hosting?
Thanks

Good work april - you're close. For this project you want to mix them up.

Look at the following sites for more diversity. Build your linkwheels with these - to my knowledge - most if not all of these are currently Do Follow.
Tumblr gets a little persnickety about your content - but sinceits a linkwheel you wont be mass blog spamming on it - we hope.

    Xanga
    LiveJournal
    Multiply
    blogger.com
    wordpress.com
    tumblr
    scribd
    typepad micro

weebly - i dont use buth others swear by it
squidoo - - PITA to me but others love it

Use the hubs in your wheel as a shield for your money site as well as a linkjuice vortex ... backlink these linkwheel hubs with copious amounts of cheap easy "any quality" Backlinks you can and hope to drive their PR up. Keep the outgoing links on your linkwheel hubpages to a MINIMUM ...2-3.

    Ok hth,

    Steve

Thanks that's very very helpful! I have set up accounts with Weebly, Wordpress, Blogger, Tumblr, LiveJournal, Vox and Squidoo so far. That's 7.

Question: what exactly do you put on each 2.o property? Do you recommend optimizing each property for your main keyword or LSI Keywords? Do you recommend keeping the wheel open or closed, and would it be unwise to put affiliate links within the 2.0 properties?

Thanks again for all your help!

The ip address isn't your actual ip address it's the ip of the server that the blog is hosted on. Google doesn't seem to give credit to links all coming from the same ip address....just like if you were have 100 backlinks all from the warrior forum in the signatures then Google will not give you as much pull because they are all from the same ip address of the blog.

other than that......your good.....just be sure the blog/free sites you use all have unique ip address or that they are not all hosted on the same server...chances are they aren't all on the same servers ip.

Iwould suggest a well written article and spin it to maximum uniqueness, or write 7 or 8 quality articles / pieces and post them there. Current logic says to leave it open. I personally have not tested that as "the best" method. So your mielage may vary. I suggest reading up on that some more till your satisfied with YOUR ideas on that.

LSI seems interesting but I wouldn't get hung up on that if I were you. I use long [ or long(er) ] tail variants of my keywords to link TO the hubs/spokes/web 2.0's. The links FROM livejournal et al TO your $$$ pages ... you want to be your keyword(s).

Lets say your keywords are - Life Insurance

Forum Profile link --> anchor text = low cost life insurance ---> weebly

        a href=hxxp://www.weebly.cxm/yourblogpage/ >low cost life insurance<//a>

weebly in content anchor text link ---> anchor text = Life Insurance ---> Money $$$ Page

        a href=hxxp://wwwyourblog.cxm/moneypage.html>life insurance<//a>

weebly in content anchor text link 2 ---> anchor text = Life Insurance Programs ---> Lets say Live Journal

        a href=hxxp://www.yourblog.livejournal.cxm/>life insurance Programs<//a>

        Hope this makes sense

Hey, yes I think I get what you are saying. Let me recap just to make sure:

Use long tail variants of your keyword to link TO the web 2.0 properties. Example you gave being a forum profile link. (this profile link would be third tier)

One in anchor text from web 2.0 TO money site is main keyword.
Second in anchor text from web 2.0 TO next web 2.0 is long tail variant of the main keyword. (these 2 links would be 2nd tier)

          Do I have that right?

Ok, so about the articles on the web 2.0 properties.....I understand what you are saying. Main point is place unique content on all web 2.0 properties....even if it is a spun seed article. Correct?

Now, say my money site promotes Xbox's on Amazon through affiliate links. Do you think it would be a bad idea to place an Xbox Amazon affiliate link in each of my web 2.0 properties, along with the 2 keyword/variant anchored links?

Thanks for all your brain power tonight!

Yes you got it. Quick study :-)

I personally would not - mainly because there are just far too many other really easy places to drop affiliate links [ like another self hosted wp blog ]

The linkwheel is there to concentrate linkpower TO the $$$ site for its ranking. Go with the design there. Each additional outbound link just diminishes the efficacy of the wheel /system you setup.

I would put an affiliate link on squidoo or hubpages if you use them as a hub in your linkwheel. I really like squidoo and hubpages. I have a few of them ranking decently and they get me sporadic sales on Amazon...and they do their job of helping my money site rank very well.

Just make sure that you put up some really decent content. I usually spent almost as much time writing an article for one of my hubs as I do for writing blog posts for my money site.

Anyway, I always include Squidoo...just because I always see them on the first page of Google and I have one on the first page. It allows you to have two or even 3 pages that you own on the first page of Google. Works out pretty well, because you're selling to people 3 times in a row...each in a unique way.

What ever you do, don't close circle, your links will be much powerful if you leave circle open. Also, all of this 2.0 properties you should bookmark:

    Digg
    Mister-wong
    Propeller
    Diigo
    Mixx ..etc.

All of those links you can put in some RSS generators, and then ping all of them.
If you have enough time you repeat this everyday
My advice to get 1# of Google

Thanks Marko. You mean bookmark and ping the articles on the web 2.o properties? Even if I bookmarked and pinged the same stuff the day before?

If you already bookmarked them, then ok, i think it's enough if you want to go slow with G, if not you should take url from one of yours 2.0 and bookmark it. All of bookmarks and 2.0 links you should generate in rss directories and then all of urs you can ping.

    Hope i helped you somehow
