question regarding redirecting and ranking

Hey everyone,
Here is the scenario - I have a squeeze page that is old and outdated, that ranks very well for a keyword that gets nice traffic. It had been ignored for a while, and now I am working on it. Let's call it mysqueeze.com
I recently created a blog page from this domain (mysqueeze.com/blog), where I want my traffic to go, and that is associated with a FB fan page. It is where I am also collecting opt-ins for a gift.
What will happen to the ranking of mysqueeze.com if I just redirect traffic right to the blog? I am concerned that if I do this, my ranking for mysqueeze.com will drop big time. Anyone ever done something like this before?
