First of all, hello

I'm very new at all this and have been trying to take in as much as I can. Every time i click on a post in this forum I learn something new. It's really great and overwhelming at the same time.

Im thinking of starting very simple, just to get my feet wet. I have used blogger for a bit now and understand it well. I was wondering what would be the likely outcome of say, making a few blogs about a specific niche, one with high ad payout /w low competition, put some adsense & amazon adds on it and generate some traffic with articles and whatnot.

Would this be a waste of time? I understand having my own domain would be the way to go but Im going to wait another month or so when 1 of my 2 jobs is over and I have more time to get all that together. This is more so a test to see what i can do than making the most cash possible, but if im going to get zero out of this method id rather know right away .

Thanks in advance!

-SJM

It sounds like you have a very good idea of what you have to do in order to be able to make some money online with adsense. The main thing being that you need to know the best ways to generate traffic to your site. I would talk to a warrior named Zeus on here, I think his name is John. He is probably the most knowledgeable when it comes to this matter.

    Hope this helps.

It would definitely be worth it! I'd recommend you buy your own domains and hosting so you have full control.

But yes making small niche adsense blogs is working well for me and it can work for you too. Id suggest adding 2 different types of ads, 1 being adsense and the other being Amazon ads or CPA.

There is certainly nothing wrong with setting up blogger blogs as you suggest -- it is much better than doing nothing, and plenty of people make money that way.

In the long run you'll probably want to have web hosting and buy your own URLs. It's better to own online property, plus it gives you more flexibility to use different kinds of sites (I especially like WordPress, lots of helpful plugins).

Honestly, I would recommend getting your own hosting and setting up Wordpress blogs. I remember as a newbie it seemed like a daunting task. However, if you get web hosting from a decent host (like Bluehost, Hostgator or some others) with good customer phone support -- they could have you up and running with your own Wordpress blog in about 30 minutes (even on a Sunday afternoon). It's really not very hard.

Most hosting packages come with 1 free URL (double check before you buy). Then you could choose from tons of different free themes and use some of the helpful free plugins (All in One SEO is great), and then be putting your time into a site you really own. With hosting being around $7 a month for enough space to host 100 blogs or more, it's a bargain!

Again, nothing wrong with just using blogger -- and certainly better than not taking action. However, I prefer to use blogger for links to my Wordpress sites that I own, and spend most of my time developing sites I own. Good luck!

In order to be a successful marketer you will need multiple plans of attack or more than one business strategy. I would get a website and blog write away, but be patient as your website will probly not get indexed for a couple months. Me not knowing what your market is, it is hard to say the best business strategy. Funnel traffic to you website from your blog, video or article and More!

IMHO, most sites should be indexed within a week, usually sooner. But it does take some patience as SEO-based traffic can take a while to buld up.

@fnf99 -- one last piece of advice, don't think too much, just get started doing something. Analysis paralysis (and ebook and forum reading paralysis) keeps many from acting.

Build a blog with articles, get some commenting/bookmarking and other backlinks, perhaps some Squidoo and Hubpages pointed to your blog -- then move on to the next blog and keep moving. Get lots of hooks in the water. Maintain what you have and develop new ones -- and don't waste time obsessing over the sites that go nowhere (we all have some). Good luck!
