If I put a link to my website in my signature and make a bunch of posts in the same forum, will they count as 1 back link all together or 1 back link per post?

Forum backlinks don't hold that much weight, so just concentrate on getting unique backlinks, and add backlinks to those backlinks and you'll be just fine

Forum posting must only be a part of your overall backlinking strategy as getting backlinks from diverse sources is good. But as @askloz said Forum signature links doesn't carry too much weight.

Forum posting with signatures linking back to your site is really useful for generating backlinks for your site. But that forum should be do follow. Remember Google always want to have backlinks from many sources. So forum signature is just a small part. You also need to have backlinks from other sources like blogs, articles, social bookmarking sites etc.

I guess AskLoz is in trouble with his 2300+ posts.

Forums count. Every little bit helps.

But use forums for the right reason. To learn and schmooze.
Not just get your sig out there.

So to clarify. You get one backlink per forum post as long as it is in a fresh thread each time? Or... do you get credit for 1 link despite the number of total postings you submit across the forum? The comments so far have been unclear.

It'll give you one back link for per post.

Forum posting is good, but you shouldn't rely only on it. Try posting comments on blogs too, make link exchange and other stuff too

From seo point of view 2 links from 2 different forums are better than 10 links from only 1 forum.
