Has anyone noticed Unusual search and traffic trends over the last 2 weeks

Over the last two weeks I have been asked by a couple of clients to have a look and see why their Webmaster tools are showing them in different positions. Its showing for their top 100 keyphrases than they actually are in.

My first thought is that Google is showing different results from different data centres and thus the figures are distorted some what.

Has anyone noticed some unusual similar or relevant activity ?

c'mon, you should know that google webmaster tools rankings are wildly inaccurate.

I wish I had some of the rankings they claim I have. Perhaps I'm #1 on google.zimbabwe or something.

you're right in saying that the data centers do have something to do with it, but you also have to consider the fact that billions of pages are being added every single day to google's index, and even hundreds if not thousands of new pages being added each day in any particular niche, each of these pages go through the same ranking process... rankings will go up and down until google's algorithm wades through all the pros and cons of each page that's out there, from how new it is, how regular the content is, how much of an authority it is, how relevant and user friendly it is in regards to increasing the users knowledge and experience, and heaps of other factors.

I would spend less time worrying where you rank each day and concentrate on just adding more content, and stick to a plan of the methods of where you normally get links, like, if you know of several places that does the job just fine to get you on the page 1 of google, leave it at that, create a page, wait a day or so, get links from those sources, and create a new page, and so on and so on, the rankings will take care of it self while you build your site

Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.
I too spend less time worrying about my rank, but this two weeks have been a major drop in ranking, thatz why I was worried a bit and wanted to check if anyone else has the same issues.

I am seeing no unusual trend on my side. Its all normal with same amount of traffic. Although I keep adding new pages and links everyday.
