What If Your Backlinks Have Similar Backlinks?

Ok, hope this isnt confusing. Say you have 5 backlinks to your site from article directories. They are not linked together in anyway, so no linkwheel strategy going on here. But now say to strengthen these 5 backlinks, you have a list of 100 high PR profiles sites and want to use the list to build 100 backlinks to each of your 5 sites.Does google track the fact that the profile backlinks going to your article backlinks are the same, and if so, do they care about this?

Anyone tested or experimented with this?

I've tracked a lot of the profile links of various sites and I see this exact tactic being used by many sites that are in the top 10 for their keywords.

Can you expand alittle on this? Exactly what are these top 10 sites doing? An example of a site you've come across would be great, thanks

I used to try to build 100 profile backlinks for 1 niche site and now it's top 5 with main keyword.

I've been thinking about doing this recently. KKChoon I believe said this was a method he used to get very high rankings in the serps.

He created 10 different web 2.0 properties based around 10 other keywords he wanted to rank for and had them all linking to his money site. He then just backlinked his web 2.0 properties heavily so that all the backlink juice dripped down to his money site.

      Forgive me if I'm wrong.

        Thanks scott,

Ya it does seem like a good idea. I'm going to be testing it out with some sites of mine, then report how it does. Maybe a case study is underway.

Like your signature by the way.

You shouldn't worry about that set up, if anything you are making the articles more relevant. The only thing that would bring you down is if those profiles look extremely spammy and you keyword stuff them...otherwise that strategy is ok.

In fact you could do the same thing with web 2.0 link wheels and link hubs
