Social Bookmarking/Backlink Questions...

I'm new to social bookmarking and backlinks. I've subscribed to Angela's service and have been submitting backlinks for about 2 months. My ratings with yahoo have skyrocketed (up to number 1 for my keyword). However, my google experience has been less fruitful.

I have 2 questions for those who've been doing this for a while:

1) Do you ping your links right after creation? Do you think this help/hurts when it comes to ratings and search engine discovery?

2) I've gone up and down with google many times. Several times (like right now) I've been removed for my keyword. I'm not sandboxed as I'm still listed under other keywords and my site is still listed under site:mysite.com. Is this par for the course with google? Anyone know what could be happening?

With google I've been as low as rank 82, not listed, then hovered in 160s, then 120s, and now not listed again.

I've stuck with whitehat methods (just backlinks) so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Thanks for your help!

Hello, well I'll give you a tip and this is what I do. I always ping my backlinks as this alerts the search engines or whatever that their is new and updated content, in this case my backlink. This is because even though some websites have good page rank, it may take weeks for the new pages to be spidered. Hope this helps.

Okay, let me get this straight. Nothing changes on your blog. You create a backlink on another blog by commenting on their post and then ping your original blog post again?

      Just a little confused.

I think the idea is to ping the page with the comment/backlink so that the search engines pick it up quicker.

It has been my experience that pinging does help your backlinks get picked up quicker. However, I'm not sure if there are any adverse side effects to this.

    1. Yes, just ping the url when ever you build backlinks which will help for quick index of the pages where your links exists.

    2. This quite common to all, google dance occurs when ever google finds new backlinks, remember our competitors will also building the backlinks, so this will happens, don't worry, just build quality links regularly.
Google won't show exact backlinks exists, better check in yahoo site explorer tool..

Hi, Tester579, you are not alone. I also facing the same problem here. My main keyword was rank up to #27 in Google but today no rank at all!

Hi IMKing, do you mean that we have to ping the full URL via command prompt whenever we create backlinks?
