  It may be that after they had an influx of spammers go over and only create pages for linking purposes they got tired of it and decided to make them nofollow.
  
  Or in some cases they want their users to actually provide a good experience for their visitors so they make sure you have to reach a certain threshold before your nofollow links become dofollow.
  
  Or they were always nofollowed and the OP didn't realize it when he posted.
  
  There's probably a slew of other OR's I could add in there, but you get the idea.

Let me know if I am understanding this idea. Let's say I'm focusing on the keyword "Rat Soup Recipes". I have a website ... ratsouprecipes.com ... with a few articles, adsense, etc.

I then pick out about 5 web 2.0 sites to create content related to Rat Soup Recipes. Let's say, Squidoo, Hubpages, Wetpaint, Gather and MSN Spaces.

Within the content, I create a link from my Squidoo site to my Hubpages site, from Hubpages to WetPaint, from Wetpaint to Gather, Gather to MSN and MSN to Squidoo. I also create a link from each of these sites to ratsouprecipes.com.

Is this the basic idea?

Wetpaint is NOFOLLOW as far as I know and have ever seen.

Few of these sites are no follow, but hey, that only works for Google, other search engines index no follow links. Anyway, I have a list of 30+ do follow websites that I use frequently. Using 30 websites to post content manually is too much time consuming, so trust me when I say you don't need more than this, and you don't want to use software either. 30 blogs plus rss and social bookmarks will do the rick.

Speaking of social bookmarks, does anyone know a good auto submitter besides bookmarking demon and social submitter or social poster. The first two are expensive, the last one doesn't seem to work at all!

Facebook and twitter are no follow so Google will never pick up on them, but Yahoo and other search engines will.

As far as Mr Wong, I'm not sure, it is a do follow bookmarking site, so you should try using the rss if it has one or even connect it to another social bookmarking site in order to get a link to it.

This is like connecting the dots, in order to get you site indexed and ranked well you need backlinks, but you also need to index your backlinks so you provide a backlink for your backlink, it never seems to end. That is why I suggest using social media and bookmarking sites that provide RSS, that way you won't have to build mass amount of links to get what you need. And the indexing process will be much faster.

  Regarding the whole nofollow / dofollow thing, it's good that the list has some nofollow blogs on it, a natural link profile will have nofollow links right? I can't imagine many things are more suspicious than a 100% dofollow backlink profile...

Yeah, but Wetpaint is listed up there as dofollow so I thought I'd point that out as incorrect. I figure that people looking to raise their rank in other search engines wouldn't be caring about whether a site was tagged with nofollow anyway. Or PR for that matter.

The problem with this approach is that if you build a blog/site under these sites, they would be having a PR0 and not having the same PR of the mother sites.

Why do you suggest to do it manually? I think it would be a better idea to automate or outsource it in order to save time. Using services like ping.fm, pixelpipe or posterous can be a huge time saver.

Hubpages (links will be do follow only if the author hub score is above 75)

Zimbio (not very easy to add article. First you need to have a approved wikizine to add articles. All links are redirected)

Wikispaces (Includes rel no follow attribute to your links, but easy to create)

Wetpaint ( You should go to Wetpaint Central Help and Support - Wetpaint Central to create a free website. All links are No-follow.)

Quizilla (focus is on kids and teens. You can create stories. Links in the stories are do follow)

Dofollow vs Nofollow - When will you realise that both are important in ranking? If links to your site are all dofollow only, how suspicious will that look??

i'm try build backlink in zimbio and result is okay for me but very difficults to post article in hubpages. Many time my article in hubpages was deleted by webmaster.. Any solution?

Kinda of confused about the "money pages".

Firstly, are "money pages" pages that would have the advertising on the side (for affiliate marketing) - and - if so, do these Web 2.0 sites listed allow for advertising on their pages? The "link juice" is supposed to point back to the domain name only in this case?

Secondly, my understanding was to create content pages on your own site using a keyword. Like suppose you took a keyword of "pillows" to be used on a site that you own called "furniture.com": one could create the following conent pages

Furniture.com/pillows
Furniture.com/pillows-king
Furniture.com/pillows-queen
Furniture.com/pillows-standard

and then to put affiliate marketing on these pages. I thought any links generated were to point to these pages(?)

So, do the "money pages" go on your own site or on the 2.0 web properties sites?

So, what's the overall strategy for utilizing these sites? Do you create content on each site and link them to other 2.0 sites, or do you link them back to your money site, or both? I think a short description of the overall strategy with 2.0 sites might help out us newbs
