Can My Site Outrank EzineArticles.com?

Hey,

I've heard about building backlinks to your articles. This seems kind of weird because I would be building links to EzineArticles instead of my own site.

I also understand that EA has a PR of 6. However, what if I had a page specifically tailored to the keyword and built back links from other articles sites like GoArticles to it?

Am I fighting an uphill battle against a site with a high PR? Or is is worth it to get my site ranking well instead of building links to my articles? Thanks

    I do some of both. Don't spend a lot of time on links to your ezine articles, but they can rank faster than a new site, simply because of all the traffic they get. Aslo remember PR is done on a page by page basis...Ezines main page is PR 7 but not every article in the directory. Your new article will still start at PR 0 like everyone else... I bookmark my articles on about 20 different bookmarking sites, but other than that, the links go to my own site...why give traffic to someone else's over glorified adsense farm? thats really all Ezine is anymore.

      Right James,

      As JM stated simply linking to the PR 6 site does not automatically elevate that linked document to PR 6.

      PR also is not the only weighting factor that goes into googles algorithim - there is a lot to it - also, .edu and .gov sites, even with a PR 2 - PR 4 have a lot of weight as they are viewed as Authrity sites by google.

      Article marketing does work - the rule I have always followed (and it seems to work) is this - build the site - each day for 21 - 30 days add 1 article - add link to EZA with at least 1 link back to main site - 2 - 5 social bookmarks. Do that daily for 30 days - make sure you do it only 1 per day. Then after that at least 1 per week.

    People outrank EZA everyday with PR0 2 week old sites. Don't even give it another thought.

    that is a good simple strategy to follow. And it works... only thing I might add if you use wp is submit your rss feeds to rss feed directories...do 2-3/ week. everywhere you can get a link, use it...

    There is no such phenomenon like we can't outrank EZA, if you get good quality backlinks to your site,you can easily dominate any page..

    Yes you can outrank EZA easily .. Even a brand new site can. PR means nothing at all, it may have at one time but no longer. Build backlinks to your site using your keyword as the anchor text and you can outrank EZA without any trouble.

    Some keywords may require more backlinks, depends upon how many backlinks the EZA author built to his/her article.

    We can easily outrank EZA because EZA marketer don't put much effort to build links to an article. This is generally right, however, don't forget there are some Gold articles that receive a lot of backlinks, it might take a bit of hard work to outrank them.

    If you want to be successful with EZA, try to get keywords that will rank on page 1 while you don't have to spend time to build links to it. You need a lot of these articles to see the result, say 300 articles...

    Each articles should receive at least 10 visitors / day to build 3,000 views a day, that would gives you a lot of traffic to your vendor's site or your own website.

    Keyword research is the key to achieving this, so learn or develop a way to find high search low competition keywords is very important!

    Sorry to the thread owner for jumping in your thread but I would like to know.. Is it possible a one page website (like a minisite) to rank high on google compared to "heavy" sites/blogs?

    1 page sites are useless to the web and more then likely considered spam by goolge now days. Why not add a few pages to it to make it look like it has a purpose?

      My landing page has a purpose ... opt ins and/or click BUY buttons.

      Most of the minisite have only one page (not including contact page, affiliate page, etc), the purpose of it is to sell product.

    whenever i see ezinearticles in the top 10 its usually good sign when i do my keyword research. most of the time it doesnt take much effort to beat.

    You can easily out rank your ezine articles with your new website if you are doing the right things, like what they all said ezine's domain is PR6 but not all of their pages. Just continue building links from authority sites and you will see the changes quickly.

    You're asking if it's better to be on the first page of Google then having authority sites etc linking to your articles?

    If you build back links the way you intend to build them, and optimize keywords, you will be on the first page of Google.
